Alison Brown Accepted to Ballot as Republican Candidate for County Commissioner - The Office of the Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder has confirmed that Alison Brown, Republican candidate for County Commissioner, District 3, has submitted the required number of signatures to qualify for placement on the June 28, 2022 Chaffee County primary election ballot. 

On March 3,2022, Ms Brown submitted 332 petition signatures to the Elections Office of the Clerk and Recorder. Of these, 54 signature entries were rejected and 278 signature entries were accepted. Under Colorado law C.R.S. 1-4-801(2)(a), a prospective candidate’s petition must contain a number of valid signatures equaling at least 10% of the number of votes cast in the last primary election for office in order to meet the requirement. Alison Brown's submission of 278 valid signatures exceeded the minimum of 216 signatures required by statute.
